Former UFC two-weight champion George St. Pierre I remembered how many years ago he persuaded former UFC owner Lorenzo Fertitta to hold a tournament in the capital of France.
“I wanted to fight in Paris. I remember when I competed, I begged Lorenzo Fertitta to hold the tournament in Paris. But at that time this sport was banned in France. I really wanted to fight in Paris because I'm French by birth," St-Pierre said in an interview with ESPN.
Recall that the UFC Fight Night 109 tournament was held in Paris last weekend, which became the first event of the leading MMA promotion in France.
