Shakur Stevenson and Teofimo Lopez are at it again on social media. The two boxing champions have started a war of words that's getting fans excited about a potential fight.
Stevenson recently put on a show against William Zepeda, winning decisively and shutting up his critics. But he didn't get much time to enjoy the victory before Lopez stirred up trouble.
Lopez, the super lightweight champ, took to social media with a bold claim. He wrote, "After I beat up @ShakurStevenson and make him cry like the p*ssy he is... I'll challenge @RyanGarcia."
Stevenson, who holds the WBC lightweight title, wasn't about to let that slide. He fired back with a warning of his own:
"Look, if I slap you at the press conference, I'll be wrong"
The heated exchange has fans wondering if these two will settle their differences in the ring.
But Lopez didn't stop at calling out Stevenson. He also mentioned Ryan Garcia in his post, bringing the 28-year-old into the mix. Garcia's no stranger to this kind of talk. He's said before that he'd easily knock out Lopez and thinks he's Lopez's 'kryptonite'.
Garcia's promoter, Oscar De La Hoya, has even suggested a fight between Garcia and Lopez. It's clear there are a lot of potential matchups brewing between these three fighters.
Boxing fans are getting excited about the possibilities. Whether it's Stevenson vs Lopez, Lopez vs Garcia, or even Stevenson vs Garcia, there are some great fights that could come out of this social media beef.
For now, it's just talk. But in boxing, sometimes that talk leads to the fights we all want to see. We'll have to wait and see if any of these matchups actually happen in the ring.
