Parker: "I'll stop Chisora this time"

"I was convinced that although the fight was fairly even, I won it. He thinks differently, so we're doing a rematch," said Joseph Parker (29-2, 21 KOs) ahead of a rematch with Dereck Chisora (32-11, 23 KOs) on December 18 in Manchester.

"I'm excited because this is the first rematch of my career. I've been making progress since the first fight and that's what drives me. Together with Andy we are working on new things and that motivates me to work even harder. We haven't had much time lately, but there will be no excuses this time. We're going to have a long and good camp. Chisora is a tough guy who always presses and doesn't stop. I know I will have the same thing in our rematch, but this time our fight will be different," assures the New Zealander, a former WBO heavyweight champion with two successful defenses to his credit.

"I have a new coach and for the first time we have enough time to work together. My confidence increases with each training session because I see a difference and progress. I sacrifice myself, I'm away from my wife, kids, parents, but warriors sometimes have to sacrifice. My goal is to get my world heavyweight title back. I have a good feeling about this rematch, and I think I can even knock Chisora out. I'm definitely going to dominate in the ring," Parker added.

"So far we've only worked together for five weeks before the first fight. It's too little time for any changes right now. Right now, Joseph won't have much progress, but he's starting to get my point. He's much more focused because he knows that if he beats Chisora a second time, a lot of doors will open for him. Sure, he'll never fight Tyson Fury because they're like brothers, but everyone else can be put in front of him. Joseph works very hard in the gym and I'm happy with the work we do together," said Andy Lee, Parker's coach for the past few months.
