Lennox Lewis thinks Joseph Parker might be the one to beat Oleksandr Usyk. The former undisputed heavyweight champion shared his thoughts after watching Usyk knock out Daniel Dubois in five rounds.
Usyk's been on top of the boxing world for a while now. He's 38 and has been crushing it for 13 years, starting with his gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics. Since then, he's become the first undisputed cruiserweight champ and a two-time undisputed heavyweight champ. He's beaten Anthony Joshua twice, Tyson Fury twice, and Daniel Dubois twice by stoppage.
Usyk's got some serious skills. His footwork is amazing, he's smart in the ring, he's a southpaw, and he's a technical master. A lot of people think he's almost impossible to beat.
But Lewis reckons Parker might have what it takes. Parker's been doing well lately. In the last year and a half, he knocked out Martin Bakole in the second round and won on points against Dental Widler and Zhilei Zhang. He's also the WBO mandatory challenger.
Lewis shared his thoughts after Usyk's win over Dubois:
"I think Joseph Parker has the best chance right now. I think they've been freezing Joseph Parker out. Joseph Parker needs that next fight, so get him in there. Joseph Parker has been waiting for his chance. I don't know why he hasn't had it yet. I think he should be the next fight."
Usyk has been ordered to defend his title against Parker, but some people aren't sure if the fight will happen. We'll have to wait and see if Parker gets his shot at the champ.
