Alvarez and Kovalev starts negotiations

Formal negotiations started on the organization of the fight between Saul Alvarez (52-1-2, 35 KOs) and Sergei Kovalev (33-3-1, 28 KOs). The bout may take place on September 14 in Las Vegas or Texas.

The first proposal submitted by the promoters of Canelo was rejected. A team of the Russian was not satisfied with the financial conditions. According to unofficial information, Kovalev was offered $5 million.

In his last fight Canelo defeated Daniel Jacobs. Fot the fight the American earned $12.5 million. The Russian hopes for a purse of the same level.

For Canelo this will be the second bout under the contract with DAZN platform for more than $360 million. Canelo and Kovalev may fight for WBO Light Heavyweight title.
