Former welterweight champion Vyacheslav Senchenko believes that Vasily Lomachenko (9-1, 7 KOs) is the clear favorite in the fight against Guillermo Rigondeaux (17-0, 11 KOs).
"I do not see Rigondeaux's any chance. For some reason, for me, he is the underdog of this fight. Many criteria can be named according to which the Cuban concedes: age, layoff, peak shape, weight. I think that Lomachenko will simply move his rival out.
I think that everything will decide in the later rounds, in the second half of the battle. While Rigondeau will be fresh and will run, he will counter, will move more around the ring. Vasily, I think, will occupy the center of the ring. And will quietly eat up the opponent bit by bit, with every round increasing the pace, increasing the pressure. I think, before the 12th round Lomachenko will simply move the Cuban out."
Lomachenko vs Rigondeaux will land on December 9 in New York at the Madison Square Garden Theater.
