Kamaru Usman, the former UFC welterweight champion, revealed that he helped former featherweight titleholder Jimmie Hendricks prepare for his bout with George St. Pierre.
"I actually studied George a lot before I was even just thinking about signing in the UFC. I had to study him because I was invited to Johnny Hendricks' training camp. I had the fate of being his main sparring partner. I was invited to emulate George. My goal was to do everything in my power to help Johnny, so I had to watch you closely. It didn't matter what George's level was, Johny Hendricks is a fighting champion, but I had an understanding that you were going to step up and do whatever it took to beat him," MMA Fighting quoted Usman as saying.
