Dave Allen thinks Moses Itauma will beat Dillian Whyte in their upcoming heavyweight boxing match. Allen expects Itauma to stop Whyte in the middle rounds.
Itauma, a 20-year-old rising star, has won all 12 of his pro fights so far. He's knocked out 10 opponents and finished his last three fights within two rounds. People in boxing circles say he's very clever for his age, especially since he never boxed as a senior amateur.
Whyte brings a lot more experience to the ring. He's fought 34 times as a pro, winning 31 of those bouts. He's faced top heavyweights like Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, though he lost to both. Whyte also lost to Alexander Povetkin but got revenge in a rematch.
Allen shared his thoughts on the fight in an interview:
"I think Dillian will come to survive. He'll get behind the jab and move early on. Itauma will chip away and wear him down. Eventually, Dillian will have to engage, and that's when Itauma will land a big shot. I see it ending in round six, seven or eight."
Allen believes Itauma's cleverness will be key. But he also pointed out that the young fighter can get frustrated when things don't go his way quickly, like in his fights against Espindola and Dovbyshchenko.
Whyte's best chance might be to frustrate Itauma early and make him miss. He's tougher and smarter than many people give him credit for.
The winner of this fight will likely get a shot at a world title. Another boxer, Lawrence Okolie, even predicted that Itauma will get that chance soon.
This match-up between youth and experience has got boxing fans talking. Will Itauma's skills be enough to overcome Whyte's toughness and ring smarts? We'll have to wait and see.
