British UFC lightweight division prospect Muhammad Mokaev has spoken at length about the decision by the promotion's matchmakers to give a title fight with champion Aleixandre Pantoja to Steve Erceg instead of him.
"They gave a chance to No. 10 ranked Steve Erceg, who has only three fights in the UFC. I have more wins in the UFC than he has fights in the UFC. I don't know why they did it, but me and my team decided I'm going to fight everybody in this division. They can postpone, but they can't revoke my destiny.
Before the fight with Alex Perez, they told me: if you finish him, you will fight for the belt. I did not feel very well before the fight and did not finish it," - quotes Mokaev talkSPORT.
Recall, Pantoja and Erceg will fight on May 4 at UFC 301 in Rio de Janeiro.
