Strickland believes he should have turned down the fight with du Plessis

"I'm my own boss. The UFC doesn't control any of us, but I probably should have turned down that fight. I wasn't in the best shape. But you get called into the big boss's office and told, 'If you don't agree, someone else will, and you'll be pushed to the background.' And you just say 'yes' hoping everything will work out," Strickland said on the ESPN MMA channel.
