UFC veteran Chad Mendes has named the toughest opponent of his career.
"When people ask me who has been the toughest opponent in my career, they immediately expect to hear about Conor McGregor, because it's just Conor McGregor. But it's not, and if I had been in good shape in our fight, I would have taken him apart easily.
That's where it was a lot harder with Jose Aldo. He's a very athletic and explosive fighter who has incredible jiu-jitsu and striking skills. Conor, on the other hand, was just a puncher and when I was taking him to the ground, he was just trying to hold me down, but he wasn't doing anything. It was an easy fight," MMA Fighting quoted Mendes as saying.
