Former UFC champion in two weight categories Conor McGregor supported Portugal striker Cristiano Ronaldo after he cried during the match 1/8 finals of Euro 2024 with Slovenia (0:0, 3:0 on penalties).
Ronaldo failed to capitalize on a great opportunity to put Portugal ahead in the first half of extra time when Slovenian goalkeeper Jan Oblak converted a penalty. At halftime, the 39-year-old's emotions took over and tears flowed.
Ronaldo eventually made amends, converting an 11-meter penalty in the winning penalty shootout that helped Portugal secure a place in the tournament's quarterfinals.
