Former UFC champion in two weight categories Conor McGregor supported Portugal striker Cristiano Ronaldo after he cried during the match 1/8 finals of Euro 2024 with Slovenia (0:0, 3:0 on penalties).

Ronaldo failed to capitalize on a great opportunity to put Portugal ahead in the first half of extra time when Slovenian goalkeeper Jan Oblak converted a penalty. At halftime, the 39-year-old's emotions took over and tears flowed.

Ronaldo eventually made amends, converting an 11-meter penalty in the winning penalty shootout that helped Portugal secure a place in the tournament's quarterfinals.

"True passion for your country! Cristiano, you are the greatest soccer player that has ever been on this earth! God bless you, brother! The past is glory! The present is history!" - McGregor wrote in X.
