Former UFC featherweight champion Aleksander Volkanovski assessed featherweight titleholder Alex Pereira's win over Jiri Prochazka.
"Jiri has managed to land very few punches. Pereira seems to be getting harder to hit, he's getting more and more dangerous. In the standup, he is splitting his opponents, but no one is able to take him down. When Jiri tried to do that, Alex showed great defense. Pereira is a big guy, it's not easy to take him to the floor.
Alex has a good understanding of all the right levers and knows where his strengths and weaknesses are. He never gives his opponents an advantage even in the clinch. He has a great future ahead of him, although he has already accomplished a lot. Will he move up to heavyweight? I do not know," said Volkanovski in a video on his YouTube channel.
Recall that on June 29 in the main event of UFC 303 in Las Vegas, USA, Pereira knocked out Prochazka in the second round.
