Dvalishvili has no plans to move up to welterweight

Merab Dvalishvili, a top fighter in the UFC's lightweight division, has announced that he has no plans to move up to welterweight.

"I understand the fighters' desire to move up to another division. It's a good thing for them. In my case, it's not a good idea. I might move up to featherweight for some special fight. It's even more likely that I'll go down to flyweight. If I move up to the featherweight division, I'm unlikely to become a champion there. Right now, I'm comfortable at lightweight. I try to enjoy the present moment and concentrate on the actual tasks," Dvalishvili said in an interview with Bradley Martin.
