Famed American mixed martial arts veteran Luke Rockhold called out the mistake of his former sparring partner Islam Makhachev in his fight against Dustin Puryear.

On June 1 at UFC 302, Makhachev defeated Puryear with a choke hold, defending the promotion's lightweight belt.

"I worked hard on it with Khabib, Islam and other guys. You can't spend a lot of time being on your opponent's back. People spend too much time on their opponent's back because they know how to protect their neck in that position. But it's necessary and important to change positions from back control to mount. You have to rotate, you can't 'fall asleep' on your opponent's back," Rockhold told Jaxxon Podcast.
