Johnson: "Chandler has been sitting around waiting for a fight with McGregor that may not happen"

Former UFC lightweight champion Demetrious Johnson criticized lightweight Michael Chandler, who has been idle for long periods of time waiting for a box office bout with Conor McGregor.

The American and Irishman are expected to fight on June 29 in the main event of UFC 303 in Las Vegas, USA.

"If you're an athlete, you make money when you compete. I can't remember the last time Chandler competed, whether it was a fight against Oliveira, Porier or Gaethje. It looks to me like he was sitting back and waiting for a fight with Conor, which may not happen.

Conor might say, "Screw you guys! I don't need your money! I don't need nobody! I'm on a freakin' yacht!". That could happen, and then it will be clear that Chandler has wasted his time. That's how I feel about it," Johnson said on The MMA Hour show.
