Jake Paul's Surprise Opponent Faces Unexpected Hurdle: "We're Working To Resolve It"

Eddie Hearn, Joshua's promoter, didn't think the fight would happen at first. But now he's changed his tune.

"I never really expected this fight to happen but the more conversations I have, honestly, the more I think there's a very good chance it could happen"

The biggest hurdle? Getting the fight approved. The British Boxing Board of Control might not want to sanction it in the UK. They're worried about the big difference between Paul and Joshua's boxing backgrounds. This means Wembley Stadium, Joshua's usual stomping ground, could be off the table unless they get special permission.

Hearn's got a backup plan, though. He's thinking about taking the fight to the United States. This move could dodge the red tape in the UK. Plus, Paul's proven he can fill big venues in America. He recently packed over 70,000 fans into AT&T; Stadium.

But fighting in the US could be tricky for Joshua. He'd have to train away from home and fight in front of a mostly American crowd. That's a big change from his usual mega-events on home soil.

For Paul, 27, this fight would be his boldest move yet. He's already fought former UFC fighters like Tyron Woodley and Nate Diaz, as well as boxing legend Anderson Silva. He even recently stepped into the ring with Mike Tyson. A fight with Joshua would be his push into mainstream boxing legitimacy.

Joshua, on the other hand, is trying to stay relevant in the heavyweight division. A fight with Paul would bring massive global attention and a payday that could rival a title defense.

The fight's not set in stone yet, but it's clear there's a lot of interest. People all over the world are talking about it, and both fighters stand to make a lot of money. We'll have to wait and see if they can overcome the hurdles and make it happen.
