Former world champion in two weight categories Andre Ward (32-0, 16 KO) stated that he is ready to end his sports retirement for a fight with former two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KO).

The American has been inactive since June 2017, when he achieved his second victory over Sergey Kovalev. After retiring, Ward worked as a boxing commentator.

“We are at Wembley Stadium with Joshua. This is a fight I would gladly have. I don’t miss boxing, because I am satisfied with my career, but I see myself in this fight,” said the retired boxer.

“This is a dangerous fight in every way, but it’s the only fight that will make me return to the gym and focus on training. I know he is preparing for a fight with Jake Paul, but I am talking about a real fight,” Ward added.

Joshua last fought in September of last year and is expected to return to the ring in December. Among his potential opponents is the blogger-boxer Jake Paul.
