Freddie Roach Reveals Unbeaten Fighter Who'd Dominate Mayweather: "He's Too Much"

Mayweather's career spanned 21 years from 1996 to 2017. He never lost a fight and grabbed world titles in five weight classes. He beat some of the best, including Canelo Alvarez, Oscar De La Hoya, and Manny Pacquiao.

But Roach believes there's one boxer who could've taken down the undefeated champ. In a chat with Boxing Social, he made a bold claim.

"Floyd is a very good boxer in his day but Aaron Pryor was better. I'm gonna go with Aaron Pryor all day long."

Aaron "The Hawk" Pryor fought from 1976 to 1990. He was a two-time light-welterweight world champion and only lost once in his career. Pryor's biggest wins came against Alexis Arguello, beating him twice in career-defining fights.

Pryor's life wasn't all smooth sailing. He struggled with drug addiction later in his career. Sadly, he passed away in 2016 at 60 years old due to heart disease.

Mayweather's biggest fight came in 2015 when he faced Manny Pacquiao in what people called the "Fight of the Century." It was a fight fans had waited years to see.

Roach's opinion might surprise many boxing fans. Mayweather's perfect record and long list of beaten opponents speak for themselves. But Roach, with his years of experience in the sport, sees something special in Pryor that he thinks would've given Mayweather trouble.

We'll never know for sure how a fight between Mayweather and Pryor would've gone down. But it's fun to imagine, and it shows the lasting impact both fighters have had on the sport of boxing.
