Oleksandr Usyk's boxing career has reached new heights. The Ukrainian fighter has become the king of the heavyweight division and possibly of boxing as a whole.
At 38 years old, Usyk knocked out Daniel Dubois in the 5th round at Wembley Stadium. This victory adds to his impressive list of recent wins, including two against Anthony Joshua and one against Tyson Fury.
Usyk's achievements have put him in the conversation with some of boxing's all-time greats. Chris McKenna, boxing correspondent for the Daily Star, shared his thoughts on Usyk's place in boxing history:
"Mayweather Jr. was and remains the greatest boxer to have graced the ring since Sugar Ray Leonard in my humble opinion. The American's body of work, unbeaten record and star quality makes him the best since Leonard. Oleksandr Usyk is now in the group just behind Mayweather. That's how highly I believe the Ukrainian should be rated... Mayweather remains the best fighter I've been fortunate enough to watch live. Usyk is not far behind though."
The debate about the greatest boxer of all time doesn't have a clear winner. People can't agree because fighters have different styles and compete in various weight classes. Many consider Muhammad Ali and Floyd Mayweather Jr. as top contenders for this title.
Other great boxers from recent decades include Lennox Lewis, Roy Jones Jr., and Oscar De La Hoya. Usyk's performances have put him in the same league as these legendary fighters.
