Edgar Berlanga and Jaime Munguia Trade Verbal Jabs Before Ring III Showdown: "I'll Send Him Home in a Dress"

The incident stems from earlier this year when De la Hoya questioned Berlanga's readiness to face Canelo Alvarez. He also made comments about Berlanga's Puerto Rican heritage, calling him "100% American." This led Berlanga to threaten De la Hoya with a "beating" when they met.

At the press conference, Berlanga made good on his threat - at least verbally. He threw a wig, lingerie, and money at De la Hoya while shouting:

"You're my stripper! F*** you! You couldn't even hit me!"

The items Berlanga threw referenced a 2007 incident where photos leaked of De la Hoya dressed in women's clothing.

De la Hoya laughed off the attack and fired back:

"I'm more Puerto Rican than you. Your jewelry is as fake as your victories. After you win a title talk to me."

Security stepped in to prevent the situation from escalating further.

The press conference was meant to promote Berlanga's upcoming fight against Hamzah Sheeraz. Berlanga tried to unsettle his opponent by playing the Jurassic Park trailer to drown him out. During their face-off, Berlanga placed his fist on Sheeraz's chin. Sheeraz responded with a middle finger.

The event will also feature a fight between William Zepeda and Shakur Stevenson. Despite the chaos, the boxing event will move forward as planned, though tensions remain high after the heated confrontation.
