Julio Cesar Chavez Sr Predicts Definitive End to Canelo-Crawford Clash: "It's Over In 7"

Canelo and Crawford will face off on September 13 in Las Vegas. The fight will be for Canelo's undisputed super-middleweight world titles. Crawford wants to become a three-weight undisputed champion and is moving up from 154lbs to do so.

Canelo hasn't lost at super-middleweight. His only defeats came against Floyd Mayweather at a lower weight and Dmitry Bivol at light heavyweight. But some fans changed their minds about this fight after Canelo's last bout. He struggled to cut off the ring against William Scull, which made people wonder if Crawford could give him trouble.

Crawford isn't taking any tune-up fights at 160 or 168. He's focusing on putting on weight in the gym to prepare for the big jump up in divisions.

Chavez Sr gave his thoughts on the fight in an interview with ES News. He said:

"Canelo will knock him out in six or seven rounds. Crawford is a good fighter but there's weight classes [for a reason]."

If Crawford pulls off the upset, we'll likely see a rematch. If he doesn't, he might consider retiring. A Canelo win could lead to more fights in his Riyadh Season deal. Hamzah Sheeraz or Chris Eubank Jr could be next for Canelo, depending on how they do in their upcoming bouts.
