Tyson Fury's Surprising Advice to Boxing Legend: "It's Time"

Fury stepped away from the ring in January 2023 following two straight losses to Oleksandr Usyk. The Ukrainian fighter, who's undefeated and holds titles in two weight classes, beat Fury in May 2022 to become the undisputed heavyweight champion. They fought again in December, with Usyk coming out on top once more.

While many fans hope Fury will return for one last showdown with Anthony Joshua, he's been focusing on Wilder's career instead. In a recent video, Fury shared his thoughts on Wilder's latest fight:

"I didn't see the full fight cause it was on at ridiculous hours in the morning, but I did see a clip on Instagram. I think IFL put a video out and I said please stop this man from his self. He's a shadow of his former glory. I know it's hard to hear that, but at 40 years old, the three fights with me done him. Completely ended his career. I know everyone's got his own reasons and everyone's entitled to do what they want, but it's sad to see really."

Fury's comments come after Wilder's comeback fight in June 2023. The 40-year-old American scored a knockout win, his first victory in his last three bouts. Despite Fury's plea, Wilder isn't ready to throw in the towel just yet.

Wilder has made it clear he wants to keep fighting. He's aiming to rebuild his career and become a two-time heavyweight champion.

While Fury believes their trilogy of fights "completely ended" Wilder's career, the Bronze Bomber seems determined to prove him wrong. As both fighters move forward on different paths, the boxing world will be watching to see what happens next.
