Frank Bruno Reveals Surprising Pick for Usyk-Dubois Rematch: "Not Many Will Agree"

Former heavyweight champion Frank Bruno shared his thoughts on the matchup. He thinks it'll be a good fight and hopes Dubois comes out on top.

"It's going to be a good fight and I hope the best man wins. I hope Dubois wins the fight, it's good for British boxing."

This rematch comes after their first bout in August 2023, where Usyk stopped Dubois. Since then, both fighters have had quite a journey.

Usyk became the undisputed heavyweight champion in May 2024 when he outpointed Tyson Fury over 12 rounds. It's not his first time holding all the belts - he was also undisputed at cruiserweight back in 2018, though he didn't keep those titles for long. Recently, Usyk gave up the IBF belt to honor his rematch with Fury.

Dubois has been busy too. He grabbed the IBF heavyweight title in June 2024 by stopping Filip Hrgovic. Then, in September, he knocked out Anthony Joshua, showing he's one of the top fighters in the division right now. He hit a small bump in February 2025 when he had to pull out of a fight with Joseph Parker due to illness, but he's back on track now.

Some experts think Dubois has a good chance in this rematch. Heavyweight Johnny Fisher believes Dubois will win against Usyk this time around.

Whoever wins will need to stay active to keep all four belts. Joseph Parker is waiting as the WBO mandatory challenger, and Derek Chisora is in line for the IBF title shot.

This fight will determine the undisputed heavyweight champion for the second time in just over a year. It's shaping up to be one of the biggest boxing events of the year so far.
