Jake Paul gets ready to step into the ring once again. The YouTuber-turned-boxer will face former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr on June 28 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
Paul, known as "The Problem Child," aims to become a world champion. He's coming off a win against Mike Tyson last November. That fight stirred up some talk because Tyson is 58 years old and hadn't fought professionally in almost 20 years.
Chavez Jr held the WBC middleweight title from 2011 to 2012. He's won his last two fights but hasn't reached the same heights as when he was champion.
While Paul prepares for Chavez Jr, he's caught the attention of other fighters. Jai Opetaia, the undefeated IBF cruiserweight champion, has something to say about Paul. Opetaia will fight Claudio Squeo this Sunday in Australia.
"If Jake Paul wants to fight me, bring it on. I'll absolutely bash him on the way to becoming undisputed. But we know he's smarter than than that,"Opetaia told Fox Sports Australia.
Opetaia added, "These guys, they're about business. They don't want to be the best fighter in the world, they want to be the most famous. And there's a real big difference in the two."
There's also talk of Paul possibly fighting WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis at a catchweight later this year. For now, all eyes are on Paul's upcoming match with Chavez Jr at the end of this month.
