Keyshawn Davis Gives Blunt Assessment of Gervonta Davis Rematch: "He's In Trouble"

The first bout between Davis and Roach on March 1 in New York ended in a split decision draw. It wasn't without controversy. In the ninth round, Davis took a knee, but referee Steve Willis didn't call it an official knockdown. That decision might have cost Roach the championship. Davis later said he went down because grease from his hair got in his eyes.

In a recent interview with Sean Zittel on YouTube, Davis couldn't pick a clear favorite for the rematch.

"I don't know honestly, I really don't know. It's a 50/50 fight, I don't know honestly, I really don't know."

Davis also called out fans for disrespecting Roach ahead of the rematch.

"No that is disrespectful to Roach, y'all fight fans gotta realise that it is disrespectful, he's in there fighting another grown man that ain't going for none of that s**t, and you don't think Roach is gonna come with another game plan or something better?"

While the boxing world waits for the Davis-Roach rematch, Davis has his own business to take care of. He'll defend his WBO lightweight title against Edwin De Los Santos this weekend in Norfolk, Virginia. If he wins, we might see him in a unification bout with the winner of Davis vs Roach.
