Eddy Reynoso, Canelo's trainer, isn't shy about his prediction. He's confident his fighter will win by knockout.
"We're going to win by knockout," Reynoso said. "Whichever round it may be, but we're going to knock him out this time."
This bold claim comes after Canelo's last fight in early May against William Scull. Fans didn't love that performance. Canelo threw just 152 punches compared to Scull's 293. Even Canelo called it "boring."
But Reynoso thinks we'll see a different Canelo this time. He respects Crawford's skills but believes his fighter has the edge.
"Crawford is a tremendous fighter-very complete-but that day, you're going to see a different Canelo," Reynoso said.
Canelo agrees, saying he hopes September brings a different kind of fight.
Other boxing experts have weighed in on how Crawford might approach the fight. Jeff Mayweather, a former trainer, thinks Crawford should keep his distance and avoid getting into a slugfest with Alvarez. Trainer Derek 'Bozy' Ennis suggests Crawford should try to frustrate Canelo and control the pace of the fight.
It's hard to say who'll come out on top. Both fighters are at the top of their game. Canelo is the undisputed middleweight champ, while Crawford is undefeated across four weight classes with a perfect 41-0 record (31 KOs).
One thing's for sure - if this fight delivers on its promise, boxing fans will be the real winners on September 12.
