The absolute champion in the bantamweight category Naoya Inoue (29-0, 26 KO) is already planning his next professional appearance after Sunday's fight with Ramon Cardenas (26-1, 14 KO). If the Japanese fighter defeats the American, on September 14 in Tokyo he will face Murodjon Akhmadaliev (13-1, 10 KO).
Inoue will meet Cardenas at a boxing night in Las Vegas, with IBF, WBA, WBO, and WBC championship belts on the line. The Japanese "Monster" will box in the USA for the first time in four years.
Preparation for the Inoue-Akhmadaliev fight has been ongoing for some time. Akhmadaliev is the official challenger for the title of the World Boxing Association champion.
