The fight was a continuation of the rivalry between their fathers from the 1990s. Leading up to the bout, Eubank Sr had publicly criticized the clash. He even said he'd bet his life the fight wouldn't happen until the referee said "box."

But Eubank Sr shocked everyone by walking out with his son on fight night. On his YouTube channel, Eubank Sr explained how it all came together:

I got in touch with Junior 8:10 the night before the fight. At 10:10 I got a call back.

They met at the Park Plaza hotel. Eubank Sr wore a disguise to avoid being recognized.

I put on a disguise and a mask and Junior said 'nobody will recognise you.'

When they met, Eubank Sr asked his son what he wanted him to do. Junior's response surprised him:

That's like the moon coming to earth, coming to within a mile of the earth. He doesn't do that.

This moment was significant because Eubank Jr isn't typically emotional. He'd avoided contacting his dad before the fight, saying:

I didn't want to call dad because I can't hear anything negative.

The fight itself was a fantastic 12-round battle. Many boxing fans were thrilled to see the father-son reconciliation.

Looking ahead, there's talk of Eubank Jr potentially facing Canelo Alvarez, the unified super-middleweight world champion. Canelo has already shared his thoughts on Eubank's victory.

For now, the focus remains on the emotional reunion between Chris Eubank Sr and Jr, which added an unexpected layer of drama to an already exciting night of boxing.
