Fury remained undefeated through 35 fights until he lost to Usyk twice in 2024. Usyk first beat Fury in May of that year, becoming the undisputed heavyweight champion. He then defended his titles against Fury in December, winning on points.

After those losses, Fury decided to hang up his gloves. He felt he deserved to win both bouts against Usyk. It's worth noting this isn't the first time Fury has announced his retirement.

Now, Usyk plans to rematch Daniel Dubois for the undisputed title. He's also made it clear he wants his final fight to be a trilogy with Fury. Fury responded to this challenge on Instagram.

Beat the f***er two times and the world knows the truth. Any time, any place [sucker]. UK next time. 100,000 people.

Fury's conditions for the fight include holding it in the UK in front of 100,000 fans.

Many expected Fury's comeback opponent to be Anthony Joshua. Fans have wanted to see this all-British heavyweight grudge match for years. The fight seems more likely now that both have lost their belts to Usyk.

Fury might plan to fight Joshua before taking on the winner of Usyk vs Dubois. That rematch is set for July 19 at Wembley Stadium in London.

Fury's Instagram post accepting Usyk's challenge has stirred up excitement in the boxing world. At 36, the fighter known as "The Gypsy King" seems ready to lace up his gloves once more.

Usyk has accomplished a lot since his fights with Fury. He became the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis. He now holds the WBO, IBF, and WBA belts. He previously held the WBC belt as well.

Daniel Dubois, Usyk's upcoming opponent, currently holds the IBF Heavyweight Championship. He was promoted from interim champion after Usyk dropped the belt.

Some believe Fury will return to face Anthony Joshua before challenging for the undisputed title again. Joshua, like Fury, lost his belts to Usyk. A fight between these two British heavyweights could be a big draw for UK boxing fans.

As the heavyweight division continues to evolve, all eyes will be on Fury's next move. Will he follow through on his promise to return? Only time will tell.
