Deontay Wilder's getting ready to step back into the ring, but not everyone's happy about it. The former WBC heavyweight champ from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, plans to fight again on June 27, 2024, even after losing four of his last five fights.

Carl Froch, the British boxing legend who held the super middleweight title four times, doesn't get why Wilder's making a comeback. In a chat with Casino Beats, Froch shared his thoughts:

"I don't know what Deontay Wilder is doing to be honest. Ferocious puncher back in the day. He's quite tall, spindly and skinny. He's 15 stone. I stood next to him. He's tall, but my big brother's six feet tall. Why are you still fighting? It makes you question if he needs the money which is a shame because he's been involved in some big fights."

Froch's comments come after Wilder's tough run in the ring. The 39-year-old American's last fight ended with a knockout loss to Zhilei Zhang in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in June 2023. Before that, Wilder's only win in recent years came against Robert Helenius in 2022.

Despite these setbacks and calls from many in boxing for him to retire, Wilder's pushing forward. He's set to face Tyrrell Herndon on Saturday, June 27, at the Charles Koch Arena in Wichita, Kansas.

Froch's worry about Wilder's comeback isn't just about his recent losses. The British ex-champ pointed out Wilder's build, calling him "tall, spindly and skinny" at 15 stone. He wondered if money might be behind Wilder's decision to keep fighting.

Wilder's return to the ring aims to put him back on track to become world heavyweight champion again. But with his recent record and questions from boxing figures like Froch, the road ahead looks tough for the once-feared knockout artist.
