Eubank Sr voiced his concerns during a charity walk with Michael Watson for the i-Neuro charity, previously known as the Brain and Spine Foundation. Watson, a former opponent of Eubank Sr, suffered a career-ending and life-threatening brain injury after their 1991 contest. This event served as a stark reminder of the dangers in boxing.

The British boxing legend didn't hold back when expressing his worries about the fight. He believes it falls into the category of "breaking the rules." Eubank Sr insists his son should compete at super-middleweight, not middleweight. He's also concerned about the 10lbs rehydration clause and the danger for Benn fighting 14 pounds over his natural weight class.

"They're breaking the rules. And when you break the rules, we have a country of baboons. This is Great Britain. We developed boxing. So, stick to the rules. Otherwise, what happens to the fighters is what you're seeing here."

When asked if he'd attend the fight, Eubank Sr's response was clear:

"Everything I've done for boxing, I should tarnish it being involved in some sort of circus? It's the wrong statement. It's a disgrace."

The match between Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn carries historical significance due to their fathers' rivalry. However, Eubank Sr's strong stance against the fight suggests fans can expect more criticism as the event approaches.

Michael Watson's participation in the charity walk, described as a "miracle" given his past injuries, further underscores the risks involved in boxing. Eubank Sr's concerns, voiced during this event, carry extra weight considering the context.
