Jake Paul wants to fight Anthony Joshua, but Amir Khan says it's a bad idea. The former unified heavyweight champion Joshua knocked out Daniel Dubois in September, denying him the chance to become a three-time heavyweight champion.
Paul, a YouTuber-turned-boxer, called out Joshua recently. He claimed Joshua doesn't have a chin or any skills. Joshua reacted positively to the challenge and even suggested 2026 as a possible date for the fight. Eddie Hearn, Joshua's promoter, said he'd consider the match-up.
But Amir Khan, a retired boxer, warned Paul against the fight. On Carl Froch's YouTube channel 'Froch On Fighting', Khan said:
"What a mismatch that is. Joshua will kill him. Jake Paul will never look at boxing and will never want to fight again. It would be the end of even his YouTube career in my opinion, after a shot like that with that one two, the end of his life as well, 100%."
Carl Froch agreed with Khan, saying it could be 'game over' for Jake Paul if the fight happens.
Joshua plans to return to the ring in late summer, focusing on unfinished business in the heavyweight division. He'll likely stick to traditional boxing matches for now.
The potential Joshua vs Paul fight won't happen anytime soon. The earliest possible date they mentioned is 2026.
Khan's warning carries weight because he was once linked to a potential fight with Jake Paul himself. Khan retired in 2022 after losing to Kell Brook in his final bout.
In other heavyweight news, Tyson Fury announced his retirement in January, ruling out a much-anticipated clash with Joshua.
