Alvarez recently shared a message on Instagram saying he's "Locked and ready" for the upcoming bout. This fight is part of a four-fight deal Canelo made with Turki Alalshikh.
Scull became the mandatory challenger for Canelo's IBF title earlier this year. He's undefeated so far and has won all his fights. His last five wins came by unanimous decision, just like Canelo's recent fights.
Canelo hasn't knocked anyone out since 2021. He's had six fights since then, winning five of them by unanimous decision. Even though many people think Canelo will beat Scull, maybe even by knockout, Canelo isn't taking this fight lightly.
"I'm a true professional. I don't take any fight lightly, and I'm preparing seriously for this one,"Canelo said in a recent interview.
This fight keeps up Canelo's tradition of fighting on Cinco de Mayo weekend. It's a way for him to stay in shape and add another win to his record.
Before Scull, there was talk about Canelo fighting other boxers like Terence Crawford or even Jake Paul. But his recent fights have been against Jaime Munguia and Edgar Berlanga.
