Carl Froch has picked Chris Eubank Jr to win his upcoming fight against Conor Benn. The former world champion shared his thoughts on the April 26 clash set to take place at Tottenham Hotspur's stadium in London.
These two fighters come from boxing families with a history of rivalry. They were supposed to face each other in October 2022, but the fight got called off when Benn failed a drug test. Benn has since been cleared to fight in the UK after fighting to prove his innocence.
Eubank Jr has been busy in the ring lately. He lost to Liam Smith by stoppage but then got his revenge in the rematch. Before that, he beat Kamill Szeremeta in October.
The upcoming fight has already seen some drama. At their first press conference, Eubank Jr smashed an egg in Benn's face, which has only made the bad blood between them worse.
On his YouTube channel "Froch on Fighting," Carl Froch explained why he thinks Eubank Jr will come out on top:
"Eubank Jr has fought at world level. He's been in there with Groves, Saunders, Arthur Abraham, James DeGale. He's proved he belongs at world level at a higher weight. Conor Benn has done nothing. His best win is probably Chris Algieri, a former champ but way past his best."
Froch points out that Eubank Jr's experience gives him the edge. Benn will have to move up to 160lbs for this fight, which could be another challenge for him.
The fight is set for April 26, and fans can't wait to see if Froch's prediction comes true or if Benn can prove him wrong.
