Terence Crawford's Bold Prediction for Usyk-Dubois Rematch: "No Question About It"

Ronald Crawley Feb. 26, 2025, 6:10 a.m.

Crawford, who's undisputed champion in two weight divisions, holds Usyk in high regard. The Ukrainian fighter has an impressive resume, including Olympic gold and undefeated professional record. He's also achieved undisputed status in two weight classes, a feat only matched by Crawford and Naoya Inoue in men's boxing.

The first fight between Usyk and Dubois took place last summer. During that bout, Dubois knocked Usyk down with a body shot. The referee ruled it a low blow, giving Usyk the maximum time to recover. Usyk went on to stop Dubois in the ninth round.

Since then, Dubois has picked up the IBF belt Usyk vacated and successfully defended it against Anthony Joshua. These developments have put Dubois in a position to potentially face Usyk again as both fighters chase undisputed honors.

When asked by Seconds Out if he favors Usyk to beat Dubois in a rematch, Crawford didn't hesitate:

"That's my boy. Yes. Usyk [is the best heavyweight in the world]. He already won, I favour Usyk."

A rematch would be a huge fight between two in-form men. Many think Dubois would stand a better chance this time around, having built up his confidence in recent outings. However, Crawford's strong support for Usyk suggests the Ukrainian's skills and experience might still give him the edge.
