Gervonta Davis wants to fight Floyd Mayweather. The WBA lightweight champion revealed his dream matchup on a recent podcast appearance.

Davis, known as "Tank," has built an impressive 30-0 record since turning pro in 2013. He's won world titles across three weight divisions and defended his lightweight belt multiple times. The Baltimore native now gets ready to face Lamont Roach Jr on March 1 in New York City.

But it's a different opponent that's on Davis' mind. During an interview on A Safe Place Podcast, he revealed his dream fight:

"Me vs. Floyd [Mayweather]."

Mayweather mentored Davis early in his career before the two parted ways in 2022. Their relationship turned sour, making this matchup even more intriguing.

The chances of this fight happening are slim. Mayweather retired from professional boxing after beating Conor McGregor in August 2017. He's 47 years old now and focuses on exhibition bouts against opponents like Logan Paul and Aaron Chalmers.

Davis is 30 and in the prime of his career. He's beaten top fighters like Leo Santa Cruz, Ryan Garcia, and Yuriorkis Gamboa. A fight with the retired Mayweather would be a clash of generations.

While Mayweather vs. Davis remains a fantasy, Tank will look to extend his unbeaten streak to 31-0 against Roach Jr in March. The fight will take place at Madison Square Garden, giving Davis another chance to showcase his skills on a big stage.
