Derek Chisora thinks Daniel Dubois will beat Joseph Parker in their upcoming IBF world title fight on February 22. The British heavyweight veteran shared his prediction after facing Parker twice in the ring himself.
Chisora knows Parker well. They first fought in May 2021, with Chisora losing a close split decision despite scoring a knockdown in the first round. Their rematch in September that year was more decisive, with Parker winning by unanimous decision and dropping Chisora three times.
Since then, Parker's career has had ups and downs. He lost to Joe Joyce in 2022 but bounced back with wins over Jack Massey, Simon Kean, Deontay Wilder, and Zhilei Zhang. Now, the former WBO champion gets another shot at a world title against Dubois.
Dubois has been on a tear lately. He's the current IBF world champion and has stopped his last three opponents - Jarrell Miller, Fillip Hrgovic, and Joshua - in impressive fashion.
When asked about the fight, Chisora didn't hesitate to back Dubois. He told FightHubTV:
"My money is on Daniel. I believe he has got everything to stop Joseph Parker because he's strong and he wants it more. He's on a roll right now. There is nothing that can stop him right now."
Chisora sees Dubois as the stronger and more motivated fighter. He believes Dubois' recent success will carry him through this challenge.
The stakes are high for this bout. The winner will be in a great position to challenge Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight title later this year.
As for Chisora, he's not done yet. The veteran is gearing up for his 49th professional fight against Otto Wallin. It's clear he's still passionate about the sport and keeping a close eye on the heavyweight landscape.
