Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn are set to face off in a big boxing match on April 26 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. The fight brings together two fighters with a family history in the sport, as their fathers were rivals in the ring.

The bout was originally planned for October 2022 but got called off when Benn failed a doping test. Now, things have changed. In November, the National Anti-Doping cleared Benn to fight in the UK again, paving the way for this matchup to happen.

Former world champion Carl Froch has changed his mind about the fight. Late last year, he wasn't interested at all.

"For me it's not a fight I want to see. Chris Eubank Jr is 35 years old, well past his best, what's he ever done? Whenever he steps up he lost to George Groves, lost to Billy Joe Saunders, whenever he steps up he gets found out. He got f***ing ironed out by Liam Smith, battered. I know he won the rematch but Smith was dead on the scales."

Froch added: "It's two fighters that are literally gonna fight each other for the old bunsen burner. Fair play, but don't ask an old boxing guy like me, I've no interest at all."

But now, Froch is looking forward to the fight. He shared his new thoughts on his YouTube show, Froch on Fighting:

"I want to see the fight. The history of the fathers makes me more interested but what's at stake? Not much. Obviously Jr has already been beaten, he lost to Billy Joe Saunders, lost to George Groves and got battered by Liam Smith. With those three losses, it's took the edge off the fight. Conor Benn is unbeaten, on the climb since failing that drug test … The fight's happening. I'm looking forward to it. And I just think, when the time comes around, it will be massive."

Eubank Jr, now 35, has had a mixed run lately. He lost to Liam Smith in his first fight after the Benn controversy but won the rematch. His last fight was a stoppage win over Kamil Szeremeta in October.

On the other hand, Benn has stayed unbeaten. He's won twice in the States while trying to clear his name from the doping allegations.

We'll see an official press conference for the fight in the coming weeks, with ticket sales to follow soon after. The boxing world waits to see how this long-awaited matchup will play out.
