Manny Pacquiao wants to step back into the boxing ring. The Filipino legend says he's ready to fight anyone, even current WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis.
Pacquiao last fought in August 2021. He lost to Yordenis Ugas in a WBA welterweight title fight at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Despite that setback, Pacquiao's career remains one of the most impressive in boxing history. He's the only eight-weight world champion and has beaten some of the best fighters of his era, including Oscar De La Hoya, Shane Mosley, and Juan Manuel Marquez.
Now, Pacquiao's looking for new challenges. He recently said:
"I can fight anybody, even Gervonta Davis, I'm not scared of anybody."
Davis, known as "Tank," holds the WBA lightweight title. He's undefeated in 30 fights, with 28 knockouts. His last bout ended with a stoppage win over Frank Martin in June. Davis will defend his title against Lamont Roach in March, which makes a fight with Pacquiao unlikely in the near future.
Pacquiao's comeback plans don't stop at Davis. He's also hinted at a possible rematch with Floyd Mayweather, though he's only willing to do it under certain conditions.
While fans might get excited about seeing Pacquiao in the ring again, it's important to remember he's been out of action for a while. At his age, coming back to face top-level competition will be a big challenge. But if anyone can pull off a surprise, it's Manny Pacquiao.
