Fury has felt Usyk's punches firsthand. In their first fight in May, Fury lost on points but didn't hit the canvas. He got a standing eight count, though. Now, he's promised to be more focused for the rematch as he tries to win back his titles.
The "Gypsy King" has a reputation for getting up after being knocked down. In his trilogy with Deontay Wilder back in 2018, both fighters hit the canvas multiple times. Fury's 12th round recovery in the first fight was especially impressive. More recently, Francis Ngannou dropped him in October.
In a chat with Queensberry Promotions, Fury dismissed Usyk's power. He said:
"I know he's got no power, because if he has a man out cold on his feet then hits him with another 10 free shots and doesn't even drop the mother f**ker, how's he going he hurt me? He's had his shots, I took his best shots and smiled. Like Tupac said, now he's about to feel the wrath of a menace."
But not everyone agrees with Fury's take. Derek Chisora, who's fought Fury before, thinks Usyk has Fury figured out. Chisora predicts Usyk will stop Fury in the rematch and keep three of the four major world titles.
The boxing world will watch closely as these two heavyweights face off again. Will Fury's confidence in his chin prove right, or will Usyk's skills be too much? We'll find out soon.
