The Gervonta Davis (30-0, 28 KOs) vs. Lamont Roach (25-1-1, 10 KOs) bout has officially been postponed. The first news that this meeting would not go as scheduled came a couple weeks ago, but was only announced today from the teams of the boxers themselves.
The athletes will cross gloves on March 1 at the Barclays Center Arena in Brooklyn. At stake will be Davis' lightweight belt (up to 61.2 kg). Roach is also the WBA champion, only a category lower, at welterweight (to 59 kg).
"My second home! Me and Roach on March 1 in New York. Let's go!" - Davis commented on the news of the postponement on one of his social media accounts.
The boxing night itself will be shown on pay-per-view on Amazon Prime. "Tank" has only had one fight at 2024. In mid-June, he knocked out Frank Martin in the eighth round.
