Briedis reacted to talk of Usyk not having a punch

"Everyone said Alexander didn't have a punch. I think everybody changed their opinion a long time ago. Of course, he's not a straight puncher. Why? Because of the way he moves on his feet. I think Alexander can punch hard and hits hard when he stops. If Usyk stops, he can punch very hard. Anyone who has been boxing for five years or more, standing in front of the bag, can punch hard. But as soon as you engage your legs, your movement, you lose your footing. You have to find the momentum in that movement to hit.

So it's a misconception when people think Alexander can't hit. Of course, if he stops, he will hit, but there's the possibility of getting hit back by someone like that, who maybe hits even harder, takes a risk. If we look in the short term, we can stand up, chop, but our career after such a fight is immediately shortened by 30-40 percent," Briedis said on his YouTube channel.
