'Tank' Davis has made a name for himself as one of boxing's most exciting fighters. He's won belts in three divisions and knocked out 28 of his 30 opponents. His success in the ring has made him one of the most lucrative fighters in the sport today.

Davis will kick off what seems to be his farewell tour on March 1, 2025. He's set to defend his WBA Lightweight World Title against Lamont Roach Jr. This fight will mark the beginning of the end for Davis's impressive career.

The announcement has left fans wondering about potential matchups that might never happen. A lightweight unification bout with fellow undefeated champion Shakur Stevenson was on many wish lists. Some had hoped to see Davis move up in weight to face fighters like Devin Haney or Teofimo Lopez.

Former two-weight world champion Tim Bradley shared his thoughts on Davis's decision. Bradley, who retired in 2016, said:

"I don't blame him."

Bradley expanded on his view:

"You can't criticize any fighter for leaving the sport with their faculties intact. Davis has made a lot of money. Sure, there are fights fans would like to see him in. But if he's not feeling it, I respect that. Maybe he'll consider some money fights with guys like Ryan Garcia or Jake Paul before he goes."

It's worth noting that Bradley has criticized Davis's matchmaking in the past. However, he seems to support this decision fully.

Davis still has plenty left to offer inside the ropes. But with just twelve months to go, time is running out for any dream matchups to become reality. Fans will have to make the most of Davis's remaining fights as his career comes to a close.
