Former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. claims he has been offered a possible fight with Jake Paul. "Tough Kid" is looking for a new opponent after defeating 58-year-old Mike Tyson two weeks ago. Reigning world champions Daniel Dubois, Artur Beterbiev and Kevin Lerena challenged the blogger turned boxer to a fight immediately after his last performance.
But it seems Paul has his eye on the son of legendary three weight class world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. Speaking with TUDN MEX, Chavez Jr. stated the following: "It's an option (Jake Paul), we're looking at it, we'll see, I have a meeting this week, maybe I can make that fight. I would be interested in fighting a champion, but fighting Jake Paul for fame and hype would put me in a position where I can fight others."
This isn't the first time such a fight has been discussed. In July, WBA president Gilberto Mendoza opened the door for boxers who could fight for one of the main sanctioning body's many trophies.
"I am not opposed to a Jake Paul vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. fight for the championship," Mendoza wrote in X.
