Carl Froch Reveals Surprising Scorecard for Taylor-Serrano Clash: "It Wasn't Even Close"

Taylor won by unanimous decision, with all three judges scoring the fight 95-94 in her favor. The victory allowed her to keep her undisputed super-lightweight championship.

The fight was a wild one from start to finish. In the first round, Serrano shook Taylor up. Later on, the two fighters clashed heads, which left Serrano with a nasty cut. This turned the match into a bloody affair.

This rematch came almost two years after their first encounter. Back in April 2022, Taylor won a split decision to keep her undisputed lightweight titles. That fight was hailed as one of the best female boxing matches ever.

Since then, both fighters have been busy. Taylor lost to Chantelle Cameron but then came back to beat her in a rematch. Serrano moved down to featherweight and won fights against Sarah Mahfoud, Erika Cruz, Heather Hardy, and Daniel Ramos.

Not everyone agreed with the judges' decision. Former boxer Carl Froch thought Serrano should have won. He said:

"I think there was one round in it and they gave it to Taylor. She was very, very lucky, she got the rub of the green there. She's had her hand held again."

Froch believed Serrano worked harder, landed clearer punches, and won most of the rounds. He also pointed out that punch statistics showed Serrano landing more hits.

Even Katie Taylor's own cornerman, Brian Peters, seemed surprised by the result. He looked shocked when Taylor was announced as the winner.

The boxing world ended up split on who really won the fight. It's clear that both Taylor and Serrano put on another great show, living up to the hype of their historic rivalry.
