Freddie Roach Reveals Surprising Take on Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul: "People Don't Realize..."

Mike Tyson and Jake Paul are getting ready to face off in the boxing ring. The match is set for Friday, November 15, at AT&T; Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

This fight has got people talking. Tyson, known as "Iron Mike," is coming back to boxing nearly 20 years after his last professional match. That's raised some eyebrows, given Tyson's age and long break from the sport.

The controversy around this match has been brewing since it was announced. On one side, we've got Tyson, a boxing legend. On the other, there's Jake Paul, who started as a YouTuber and has now turned to boxing.

Freddie Roach, a legendary trainer who worked with Tyson near the end of his career, shared some thoughts about the upcoming fight. He told DAZN News:

"Mike's a great guy and I did train him for a couple of fights before the end of his career, but his heart wasn't really in it at that time. If he didn't knock you out in a couple of rounds he'd get a torn meniscus in his knee or an injury somewhere here or there."

But Roach also remembered Tyson's strengths:

"But the thing is Mike is a great puncher, he trains very hard. Being with Mike for two fights it was a lot of fun, I enjoyed it. Catching him on the mitts was very difficult and a lot of fun. Getting whacked by Mike Tyson with the right hook isn't my favourite spot but I lived through it!"

Tyson's last couple of pro fights didn't go so well. His second-to-last bout ended in a stunning upset loss to Danny Williams, who knocked him out in the fourth round.

Now, Tyson's coming back to face a much younger opponent. Roach shared his thoughts on this matchup in a recent interview:

"I trained Tyson. I like Mike a lot. He does come by my gym once in a while to say hello and visit and stuff. All of a sudden this fight's coming up against a younger, maybe stronger man. Well I can't say stronger cause Tyson's very strong. But the last two fights I trained Tyson for he didn't do that well. I hope he does well because he's a good friend of mine."

Jake Paul's got his sights set beyond this fight. He's already talking about who he wants to face next if he wins.

Fans can catch all the action live on Netflix when these two step into the ring on November 15. It's sure to be an interesting night of boxing, no matter how it turns out.
