Mike Tyson Reveals Unexpected Career Highlight: "It Changed Everything"

Mike Tyson has picked an unexpected moment as the high point of his boxing career. The former heavyweight champ says his 1990 loss to Buster Douglas was the best thing that happened to him.

Tyson made a name for himself as a young fighter. He won the world heavyweight title at just 20 years old. He knocked out his first 12 opponents in the first round and his first 19 within six rounds.

But it's not these wins that Tyson values most. In a recent chat with 10X Studios, he said:

"Losing to Buster Douglas, that was the highest point of my life. I had to show something after that. I wanna be one of those guys as long as I'm winning I'm doing good? No, You have to overcome adversity and win again."

The loss to Douglas was a huge shock. Tyson was the heavy favorite, but Douglas knocked him out in the 10th round. It was Tyson's first professional defeat.

After the Douglas fight, Tyson bounced back. He won his next eight fights, including a win over Frank Bruno for the WBC Heavyweight World Title. He went on to face Evander Holyfield in two memorable fights.

Tyson had other big wins in his career. He beat fighters like Frank Bruno, Michael Spinks, and Razor Ruddock. But he also lost to Lennox Lewis in a fight for the undisputed title in 2002.

Now, at 58 years old, Tyson is getting ready to fight again. He'll take on Jake Paul, who's not even 30 yet, in an eight-round professional bout. The fight will be shown live on Netflix.

Tyson hasn't fought professionally since 2005 when he lost to Kevin McBride. Some people think the age gap between Tyson and Paul is too big. But Tyson has shown he can overcome tough times before. He'll try to do it again in the ring with Paul.
