Terence Crawford Reveals His One Concern About Canelo Showdown: "It's Not The Power"

Terence Crawford wants to fight Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez. The newly-crowned four-weight world champion sees it as the biggest bout in boxing right now.

Crawford just moved up to super-welterweight and beat Israil Madrimov for the WBA title. Now he's got his sights set on jumping up two more divisions to face Canelo at super-middle.

Canelo recently defended his unified super-middleweight titles with a comfortable win over Edgar Berlanga. Crawford told TMZ he's ready for the challenge.

I've been wanting the fight. I feel as if that's a legacy fight. This is the biggest fight in boxing today. This fight right here is like the Last of the Mohicans – we're both coming in the era where Floyd Mayweather was number one pound-for-pound, Showtime, HBO, that type of era. I think this fight would be massive … You got two guys, top three pound-for-pound, going head-to-head.

Crawford knows he'll have his hands full with Canelo's power and size. But he's not worried about the Mexican's skill or experience.

I just think his punching power and his physical size is the only thing that I really have to worry about, but who knows? Once we get in the ring we don't know how I'll handle his punching power and his size. I've been fighting bigger guys my whole life, so I'm pretty familiar with that aspect of the game.

Canelo's got 62 wins with 39 knockouts. He's never been dropped or stopped in 65 fights. His last five wins have come by decision.

Crawford couldn't get the knockout against Madrimov in his last fight. He'll need to bring his A-game to trouble the bigger man.

Canelo hasn't responded to Crawford's challenge yet. After beating Berlanga, he said he'll listen to offers when he's ready.

The fight would pit two of boxing's best against each other. Crawford will have to move up two weight classes to make it happen. It's a big jump, but he thinks he's ready for Canelo's power.
