On Boxing Night at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, USA, local star Jaron Ennis (33-0, 29 KOs) defeated Ukrainian Karen Chukhadjian (24-3, 13 KOs) to retain his IBF welterweight title.

Choukhajian, who lost to Ennis on points last January, was able to put on a more confident performance this time around. He shortened the distance, often seized the initiative and delivered many punches to the target. Nevertheless, Ennis looked better in the competitive standup, and in the fifth round he even forced his opponent to take a knee after a nasty uppercut. The fight resulted in a 119-107, 117-109 and 116-110 victory for the champion.
